Pg. 1 I am writing this to inform those who have had questions and are concerned about our youngest daughter Tiffany Searle and what is going on in her and her family’s lives. Tiffany was recently honored at a benefit concert at American Fork Jr. High School. This was an incredible event for Tiffany, our family, the choir students and all those who attended. Mr. Mathew Thornton, the choir director asked the students in his choirs if they know of anyone who could benefit from a concert to help raise some money and honor someone who is struggling. Our son Nicholas is one of his students who wrote a letter about his youngest sister. Nic came up with this idea but did ask his mom to help write the letter. We were told by Mr. Thornton that the students then vote on the person that they want to do the concert for. Tiffany was unanimously voted on for this awesome event. The students sang from their hearts, it was truly inspiring. They sang YOU RAISE ME UP, SEIZE THE DAY, ONE SMALL VOICE and others. My tears flowed freely as they sang “You Raise Me Up.” Mr. Thornton pointed out that children like Tiffany can help raise us up as we watch them overcome impossible challenges. I reflected on the words (When I am on your shoulders) and could not contain my tears. Tiffany has spent a lot of time on my shoulders. When I get home from work she usually says to me “up on shoulds,” (up on shoulders) so that’s what we do. This is how she gets around now because she can no longer walk and has become so weak it is difficult for her to feed herself. Tiffany has gone from riding her bike and running races to a wheelchair, shoulders or being carried everywhere she goes. This has been tremendous challenge for her and her family to deal with emotionally, physically and financially.
